Building Your Home
The building process consists of four main stages:
Stage 1 - The Planning
The first stage for planning a build is for us to have an initial discussion about your requirements. We can then decide on the style and scale of your house and the materials needed for it, in order to work out a budget. Your wish list is useful. (Make a scrapbook of photos and homes that you like as this will help identify your personal style.)

Stage 2 - The Design
Next, you need to engage a designer. We will work with you to find a designer who can help you make your dream a reality. (You may now want to engage any specialists who'll be able to help with the process.) We then work through the design process with you and give feedback on the drawings. We'll explain how permits work and give you a time frame on the design, the permits and on the actual building process.

Stage 3 - The Budget
Once working drawings for your house are available, we can deliver a fully itemised working price from which it is easy to work out where costs are allocated. We can then give you options for different materials and additional features.
Stage 4 - The Build
The team at D.J. Hewitt Builders now work closely with you and our sub-trades throughout the building process to achieve an end result, which is both on time and within budget.
Stage 5 - Interior Coordinating
D.J. Hewitt Builders now offers an Interior Coordinating Service. Tara Hewitt can help you style your whole home interior. She can bring all the experts together for a stunning interior including: lighting, kitchen, bathroom, colour design, carpet, tiles & window treatments etc. D.J. Hewitt Builders Won the Interior Design & Finish Award in Canterbury 2005.
